Barron's (WordOnFire.org) highly anticipated project: CATHOLICISM. This short clip is from episode one and it's called "Amazed and Afraid: The Revelation of God Become Man". It begins to tackle questions like...Who is Jesus? Should we be amazed and afraid of Him? Have we domesticated Him too much? Do we fully grasp the significance of what He claims to be? This clip was filmed in Israel and Rome on Fr. Barron's first trip to the Holy Land for this project. Blog post: http://www.fallibleblogma.com/index.php/blogma-exclusive-fr-barron-on-domesti... I don't have exact scriptures but I have read over time that no one has ever seen God, but Jesus says anyone who sees me sees the Father, in the new testament says that the Father is greater than me. I'm not sure if Jesus says he is the creator but it says that the Father is greater than he. What's your view on the bible, is it all reliable and true, or are there flaws? Thanks lazona1233 2 weeks ago Reply Share Remove Flag for spam Block User Unblock User It's understandable there is such confusion on the bible. But each of those quotes must be considered in their context and with the understanding of what the passage is trying to teach. If you study them at that level through the eyes of the Church, I can assure you they are not problematic at all. Barron: "The bible's not a book, it's a library. Do you take the library literally? Well, it depends on what section ur in. If u go into the journalism section or the strict history section yea, you’d take that pretty straight-forwardly. But if u wander into the poetry section, mythology, political opinion, it depends on what genre you’re dealing with. The bible is a collection of books from a wide variety of literary genres. Therefore u have to know which lenses to wear.” MatthewWarner in reply to lazona1233 (Show the comment) 2 weeks ago Reply Share Remove Flag for spam Block User Unblock User Top Comments This really focuses the whole question very clearly. A restatement of CS Lewis that He was either a liar, a lunatic or who He said He was. Of course, it is a matter of history that almost all of the earliest and closest followers of Jesus were killed for their beliefs, after completely dedicating themselves to spreading His message. People never give up their lives for liars or lunatics TheAdrian260 1 year ago 9 Reply Share Remove Flag for spam Block User Unblock User Absolutely cannot wait. Feels like the sleeping giant is awakening! :) Thank-you Fr Barron for sharing the goodness that God has sent you in your own life through the Catholic Church with all of us fellow pilgrims. fifalacious 1 year ago 3 Reply Share Remove Flag for spam Block User Unblock User see all All Comments (15) Sign In or Sign Up now to post a comment!
